Cara Falconi received her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Expressive Therapy from Lesley University. She has held various positions in both private and public sectors as a learning specialist, child/family therapist, school psychologist and clinical director. Cara served as the Director of Child and Adolescent Programing for NAMI Massachusetts for many years. She has completed the Federation for Children with Special Needs Advocacy Training and since 2004, and has maintained a private practice as a special education/therapeutic consultant since.
Cara has acquired the knowledge, skills and educational resources to successfully work together with families and consult to schools. She has formed well established relationships with a variety of school districts and private programs. Her goal is to help families and schools work collaboratively to develop the best educational experience for students with special needs.
Cara's expertise includes working with students who have been diagnosed with Learning Disorders, Mental Illness, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social-Emotional Disorders and difficulties stemming from adoption (ie: RAD & PTSD).
Cara frequently lectures to parent and professional groups on children's mental health topics and is also the proud adoptive mom of her son who has multiple special needs.
